Nurse Libby took care of my mother while she was a patient in the PCU. I am a retired nurse and recently had a "bad" experience while my husband was hospitalized at a facility where I live. Because of that, I felt that I needed to reach out to make sure Libby was recognized for going above and beyond so many times for mom. She was amazingly helpful, comforting and took the extra time to feed mom while always making sure she was well cared for. I know that she did not single my mom out and I believe that this is just her way and that she takes care of all her patients like this every day. She has set the bar so high for others. Everyone was busy, but Libby always made the effort to respond as needed. On the last day, she was getting mom ready to be transported to the rehab center and told me that she would call me when Mom was leaving the hospital as there had already been several delays. Libby did "forget", but "remembered" and called me after her shift was over. Her voice is so soft and soothing, and she also has a great sense of humor. In fact, she told me that when the transporters arrived, she told mom if she was good, she would get to take one of the transporters home. Of course, that relaxed mom and made her smile. Mom knew she was in good hands and that made that transition easier for her. Libby is a keeper!! You never know what someone is going through, and we have had a lot going on in our family and Libby went above and beyond to make a difference for my mom and the entire family.
