Families and the medical team often request Marjory for their patients because of the meticulous care that she delivers.
Marjory is an incredible asset to the PICU. She is a team player, articulate, and the best preceptor in the world. She also serves as the CRRT expert, charge nurse, and is frequently requested in the ECMO rooms. She is always willing to help and picks up shifts to help the unit all the time. She is my go-to preceptor for night shift, because she is an exemplary team member.
Families and the medical team often request Marjory for their patients because of the meticulous care that she delivers. The team members that she precepts always excel. They come off orientation with solid knowledge about the PICU and are well equipped to critically think through situations. This is in large part due to the preparation that Marjory does with them. Marjory takes time out of her personal life to check in on these new nurses on her days off. She has scheduled WebEx calls with them to cover concepts, policies, and clinical pathways that they were not able to get to during their busy shift. She truly takes ownership of precepting new team members and takes pride in her job.
Recently, we had an international nurse join the PICU from the Philippines. Marjory reached out to him to make sure that he was adjusting to Jacksonville ok and offered to be a resource for him. Marjory is truly one of the BEST nurses and BEST Humans that I have met in my 19 years here at Baptist. I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. She truly embodies the values of Baptist Health.
***
Marjory is always willing to lend a helping hand to her coworkers and remains calm even through the craziest of nights. When she has a complex or critical patient, she is always up for the challenge. She is often proactive with critical patients, quickly recognizing trends. I always feel confident when Marjory has a critically ill patient that the patient will be well cared for. She does this without complaint. I have been working more nights lately and it has become clearer to me just how valuable Marjory is to the PICU. Marjory, you are an Extraordinary Nurse and an inspiration to us all! Congratulations, you make us proud!
