Professor Dieterich shows up to be a supporter, a mentor, and a motivator even in the hardest times.
In my first semester of nursing school, I thought so many times about dropping out and giving up on my dreams of being a nurse because the stress was too much. I thought I wasn't going to make it. Professor Dieterich was the light in a dark tunnel. I have never seen anything but a smile on her face. She was there when I was hysterically sobbing about anything and everything and she's still here when I finally feel like I am capable of nursing school. Professor Dieterich never made anyone feel dumb or incompetent she instead told them "it's okay let's try again." I wish I could explain the full impact she has had on me. I can honestly say that I don't know if I would still be in nursing school if it was for her. I hit rock bottom first semester now it's the third semester and I owe Professor Dieterich everything and more. She would always tell me how it gets better how everything will be worth it and to just keep going. I can see what she means now as I am more involved in patient care in the hospital. I know that in my program there are so many more people who think that she doesn't just show up to work to be a professor. She shows up to be a supporter, a mentor, and a motivator even in the hardest times.

Prof. D has been such a positive influence on my Nursing school journey. She brings such practical knowledge of nursing skill especially to first semester students! She profoundly impacted me a few semesters ago just before our school shut down due to COVID. We gathered around for class and had a frank conversation about the impending wave coming our way. She gave us words of wisdom some advice and a warm laugh before helping us realize the world into which we were about to embark. She spoke truthfully and honestly and for the first time, I didn't feel so uneasy about going boldly into Nursing. Thank you Prof. D!
