Georgina came to our department and sparked life back into us. She has listened and genuinely valued us as people and caregivers. She continues to be diligent about advocating for her division. She has a kind soul and is sincere about helping us grow to meet our potential. She is an amazing leader and lives out the Providence Values. We are lucky to have her!

Georgina has been a huge support for our unit and division. She is ever-present and available. Always willing to hear us out and provide guidance. She offers support in all situations and is totally transparent with us. Our unit had low morale and not much hope and then she came and made us feel heard and cared for. She is a perfect example of nursing excellence and leadership.

Georgina hasn't been here very long but has accomplished more in her short time here than others in many years previously. She has made the entire team feel like she is there for them and cares about them. She totally supports the mission of Providence. She went to bat for the entire division as nurses were leaving left and right over floating to the house on a weekly basis. She didn't hire a NICU manager until she found the right fit for management as well as the staff. Even though it took quite a few rounds of applications and interviews. She wasn't satisfied with even a 50% buy-in. She is a true manager who listens to her staff and cares about their feelings. Our staff morale has improved greatly since she came. Regardless of the issue she always comes with a smile on her face and listens to us. She is truly deserving of this award because on top of this she has been down a manager on at least one unit since she came.

Georgina has stepped up to help the pediatric unit while we transition into getting a new manager. I am a new hire to the unit, and she has made me feel welcomed and supported!

Georgina joined our team at a time of transition. She took time to get to know our team's strengths and opportunities for growth. She approached our team with great compassion and presence. She patiently listened to our concerns and the stories of our struggles. She expressed a genuine desire to be an honest and transparent leader. She advocated and patiently worked through many candidates to find the right manager to lead our unit through what will continue to be a challenging time in healthcare. Georgina has a great passion for nursing excellence. Her support and authenticity have brought back the spark of passion and pride that had been waning in our unit. Thank you, Georgina!

Georgina stepped into this position with ease and has been amazing to work with. She is a hard worker and dedicated to her team.

Georgina has come to our division and has shown compassion, determination, strength, leadership and a get it done attitude. She has taken some very difficult unit situations and stood by the nursing staff to promote change. She is a very personable leader who makes herself available to all on the units and tries to lift nurses to their highest level of caring. Georgina is a breath of fresh air! She listens to the Nurses' concerns in the NICU and helps us come up with a solution. She is very respectful of the staff. She wants to be sure that our unit functions well, so we can provide great care to our babies.

Georgina is a leader that listens to the concerns and ideas of the nurses in her division. She respects those of us at the bedside and listens to our ideas of how to improve care. She worked with the nurses in the NICU as well as the leadership in the NICU to be sure we found a manager that will work with the NICU staff to improve our culture and care in the NICU. I so appreciate all the times she listened and asked questions of our nurses in the interview process of the potential managers. She told us that it is important to find the right manager for us to be successful. If we are successful, then she can be successful as a director. I feel respected and supported by her whenever we have conversations, even if we don't agree. In her year at St. Vincent’s, she has helped us feel good about our senior leadership.

Georgina came into her position during a very difficult time in healthcare and also got thrown into very difficult situations on several units. She has handled everything with grace and compassion and has advocated for all of the nurses since day one. Georgina has been acting as the pediatric and PICU manager as well and has heard our needs and made changes for the better.

Georgina is an amazing leader and really makes her units feel appreciated, valued, and heard. I have had multiple rough shifts and problems and she has been so responsive and helpful each time. She makes the time to have great communication even with her night shift crew. Even as a new staff member I feel like she makes time to make me feel appreciated and a part of the team. I also really appreciate how she advocates for the units and listens to our feedback. Georgina is a truly great and inspiring leader.

Georgina has been absolutely amazing as the maternal child director. She has not been here long, but in just the short time she has been with us, she has proved to be an excellent leader. She has taken the time to get to know the staff and she genuinely cares about our concerns and voices. She has helped lead our unit while we have not had a manager. She is always easy to reach out to and helps problem-solve when we need that. She has helped us in our process of finding a new manager and she has truly allowed us to fully be a part of this hiring process which was so important. Georgina is a remarkable leader and is very deserving of this recognition.

She has been such a great advocate for not just our unit but our entire division since she started. She has supported us and gone above and beyond to help us provide the best care for our tiny patients!

Georgina has been an outstanding leader for the maternal child division. While our unit has gone through a lot of changes in the last year, Georgina has been empathetic, a great listener, and willing to offer the support that our staff needs. She addresses and follows up with all concerns that are brought forward, and really works to accomplish things that we need. She has taken the time to get to know our staff and our unit so that she can work with us to accomplish our goals. I know that she will handle things fairly and look out for our best interest. We are so happy that she has joined our team!

Georgina has been a wonderful nursing director since she began in her position. She has always been very supportive of staff concerns and clear in her communication. However, she has been especially great stepping in as our interim manager. She explains why things are the way they are and is present and available when issues arrive. She really included everyone in the process of interviewing and hiring a new manager. She has been a wonderful representative of what an exceptional nurse leader looks like and definitely has fostered an environment for exceptional care in our PICU and peds units.

***

Georgina has filled multiple leadership roles at a time with transitions of managers in the division. She has been an advocate for the staff under her charge. She is quick to respond to concerns brought forward. She is proactive in getting staff the resources they need to care for our patients.

***

In the year that Georgina has been with Providence, amazing things have happened within the Maternal Child division. She has not only brought the entire division out of a dark spot in our trust with leadership and morale, but she has raised us past anywhere we have been. In the 16 years that I have been here, I have never had leadership willing to LISTEN and be HONEST like her. She truly hears us, considers all angles and possibilities, and helps to find actual solutions. She treats us all as professionals, recognizes the talents we all bring, and is never condescending or superior. This division has been VERY wary to trust management, but she is a true example of what a leader should be and has let her light shine on us all. How lucky Providence is to have her.

Since Georgina has been in her role, she has been an incredible leader. She is approachable, kind, present, and advocates for her teams. She has also stepped in as interim Nurse Manager for Peds/PICU on top of her other duties. She has found the time to connect with staff, lead meetings, and provide traction on change. She has also opened up the manager interviews to staff and listens to feedback. She is wonderful to work with on projects and is transparent when she needs more information to make a decision.

Georgina has been like a breath of fresh air for the Maternal Child Division. As a leader, she is genuine and approachable. She also takes pride in the work she does and has no problem taking action to get things accomplished. She is a fierce advocate giving a voice to concerns that had previously been ignored. I am so thankful she is in the role representing Maternal Child. Thank you, Georgina!
