Paulette listens. She listened to my concern of feeling like I did, she treated me, not the machine, she is compassionate.
I was recently a patient on the med surg floor, and although Paulette was not my nurse she did come in one morning and do my assessment. I was having a hard time during this visit, I am an asthmatic and that was the cause of admission, I was having a hard time with the nurses and the staff listening to me and hearing what I was saying. Paulette listens. She listened to my concern of feeling like I did, she treated me, not the machine, she is compassionate, she also listened to me complain about everything including the food from this visit. She also taught the nursing student with her that there was a reason I said that my feelings weren't going to match the machine and why. Paulette is seriously an amazing nurse and an inspiration to future nurses. I would also like to add that I am an employee at this hospital and I have worked many nights with Paulette in the ER when that was our home department. She does not just treat people that she knows this way, she treats every person who walks through the door with the same compassion that is so hard to find these days. I am currently at the end of RN school myself, and she is the kind of nurse that I strive to be, she is a role model that is so hard to find these days
