Susanna is one of the most reliable, trustworthy, genuine nurses I have worked with. From a peer perspective, she genuinely cares about her coworkers and her patients, as well as Alliant as a whole. Her authenticity shines through in a way that cannot be faked. If she tells you she will do something, consider it done. Susanna is honest but delivers her honesty with tact.

From a patient care perspective, Susanna gives their patients a sense of comfort and sincerity by treating them as human beings and treating everyone like a friend. She is not short or abrupt, introduces herself to everyone, and is never condescending. Susanna never forgets that it is a person in that bed, taking time to provide even the most basic hygienic care that can be missed sometimes.

She picks up extra shifts, volunteers for new roles, and really goes with the flow. She keeps a positive attitude and is a glass-half-full type of person. I worked alongside Susanna one day while we were in the tech role, and she had come in on her day off to help out. She jumped right in, divided the work, and even though we were severely understaffed that day, took the time to be personable with the patient, making the patient laugh and ensuring their needs were met before moving along. Susanna has used her positive attitude and willingness to help branch out to take on additional responsibilities as well.
