While out and about in the local community, Kristina noticed a young girl lying unconscious in the middle of the road. When she approached the girl, Kristina quickly realized that the girl was in need of CPR and immediately went to work. She directed other pedestrians to call for help while she worked tirelessly on the child. Thanks to Kristina’s quick response, the patient was brought to Lutheran Hospital’s Pediatric Emergency Room where she coded, was once again resuscitated, and flown to Riley Hospital to receive the specialized intensive care she needed. The patient’s family are and will be forever grateful for Kristina and her extraordinary efforts to save the life of their daughter. Kristina is an exemplary nurse inside and outside of the hospital, keeping a clear head, knowing what needs to be done, and going above and beyond the call of duty to save lives.
