Lindy took the time to listen to my struggles and was the first one to reassure me that I needed to do what was best for my mental health.
Lindy went above and beyond for me while in the NICU with our daughter. We previously spent 4 weeks in the NICU back in 2017 with our son and had her as a nurse. She was always attentive to us, but the thing I appreciated the most was how much she truly cared about my wellbeing as well as our daughter's. Our first NICU stay was difficult, but we just had one child so we could spend all of our time there. This NICU stay was a little more challenging with a 4-year-old at home and our daughter in the NICU. I constantly felt guilty leaving our daughter to be with our son and leaving our son to be with our daughter. Lindy took the time to listen to my struggles and was the first one to reassure me that I needed to do what was best for my mental health - I needed to take time for myself and I needed to spend time with our son. She connected with me on her NICU experience and explained that our daughter was in great hands while I tended to my needs and our son's. She let me cry and just truly helped me feel better about spending time outside of the NICU. It helped to lift the guilt away from the situation and I really appreciated it.
