Elizabeth went above and beyond when it came to making us feel welcome and a part of things in a difficult situation.
While all of the nurses in the ICU were amazing, this nurse stood out and will forever have a special place in our hearts. You see, without Elizabeth, my brother would never have gone on to be the organ donor he was meant to be. My brother was in the ICU on life support, in a state where we wondered if he would make it through each night. When he finally did code, we were so thankful this nurse was there. Not only did she sound the alarm, but she fought to continue to bring him back when at least one doctor was ready to give up. She promised she wouldn’t lose him, and she did everything to keep that promise. That isn’t the only reason that we think she is deserving and amazing though.

Elizabeth went above and beyond when it came to making us feel welcome and a part of things in a difficult situation. She made sure we had all the info we could need, as well as whatever else (a priest for last rites, connection to Lifenet, snacks, etc.). Beyond physical needs, she joked with us, shared stories, and gave us hope and comfort. She was exactly the nurse we needed, and she made us wish that all nurses could be like her. It felt like you had a friend in the room who was on your side. You could tell she truly cared for her patients and loved what she does. For us, she definitely made a difficult situation easier and brought a ray of light and hope into an otherwise nightmare situation. Please let her know how much we appreciated everything she did for our brother and our family.
