This COVID pandemic has certainly changed all of our lives seemingly overnight. In the face of so many changes, unknowns, and uncertainty, this individual stepped up to help support patients, staff and operations of the hospital by taking the lead on coordinating how we would handle this pandemic at Methodist Charlton. She worked tirelessly with hospital and corporate leadership to review information and push it out to leaders – not just once or twice, but often multiple times a day. Especially in the beginning when the CDC guidance was varying constantly. Regardless of how frustrated she may have been on the inside, this individual always maintained a calm and level-headed demeanor as she communicated information with the rest of the team. She always did her best to be inclusive of all areas that would be affected by various aspects of the change and was open to their feedback. Though sometimes the news was unpleasant or situations were difficult to bear, she was always reassuring and encouraging the team. I look back on those initial chaotic weeks and think about how lucky I was to work with such great leaders at Charlton, but I have to say (and I don’t believe I’m alone in this sentiment), I was most impressed by the leadership and direction provided by Amanda Binnix.
