I can only wish that every parent that goes through having a child in the hospital receives care like the care that Kelly provided.
From start to finish, Kelly was caring, loving, comforting, and went the extra mile to do everything she could to help care for my son and me. Kelly was with us throughout our stay in the PICU when my newborn was diagnosed with RSV at 6 days old. Kelly was able to recognize when my son was in distress and address doctors when needed.
The first night he was there, she saw on the monitor that something didn’t look right with my son. Kelly came running in and called for other nurses to come help. A few minutes later is when the decision was made that my son needed to be intubated. Kelly sat with me while I cried, she hugged me when I needed it, and most importantly, she loved on my son when I needed a break. Since there was only one visitor at a time allowed, she was more than capable to support us in this frightening time. She was so supportive, understanding and did incredible at not only her job but relating to me and comforting me when I was absolutely terrified that my son was not going to make it out of the PICU alive. I can only wish that every parent that goes through having a child in the hospital receives care like the care that Kelly provided. She will always have an extremely special place in my heart and we will never forget her!
Due to the close monitoring that was provided by Kelly (and the other amazing nurses and doctors) after 27 days in the PICU, my son was moved out of the ICU and we recovered on the pediatric floor and headed in the right direction to get us home! Thank you, Kelly! You rock! You will always be our DAISY!
