My daughter went into CHKD at Princess Anne yesterday morning for a procedure. She was feeling very nervous at the time, as she has never been in the hospital for anything. For her comfort item, she brought her favorite stuffed animal, G the goat. G has been very well-loved and came to the hospital with a hole in her neck. The nurses there noticed and immediately admitted G to the hospital, ‘registered’ her and gave her an armband. G the goat went back to the OR where she got fully stitched and bandaged up by nurse Trish.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the nurses at CHKD (and everywhere) for all the things you do that you don’t have to do. This small gesture made my daughter’s whole entire day! She felt so much more comfortable knowing that the nurses not only cared about her but also cared about her special stuffed animal too. I think this small sweet gesture reassured her that she could trust these people and that she was in good hands. All the nurses went above and beyond, especially Trish. This had such a positive impact on our day and I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you.
