Vickey is amazing every day I work with her but this day in particular she went above and beyond to care for a highly anxious patient. This young patient was scared to have surgery, Vickey sat down with her and talked to her about anything and everything. Vickey was able to keep the patient calm so that she could be educated during the pre-op period. Vickey sat with this young woman for nearly two hours just talking to her and keeping her calm so that she could have a pleasant surgical experience. Knowing what kind of person Vickey is, I expect her to drop everything and help when needed, this is what she did for this patient. Vickey made her feel important, comfortable and affirmed that her fears are being heard. This is important to our scared surgical patients. It is an honor to be able to work with someone like Vickey who is able and willing to take the time to talk to our patients and help alleviate their fears.
