I am so thankful Stacy is in the position she is in and that we know that every member of our staff will be treated with the respect and compassion deserved during these difficult times.
Throughout the past year, I have watched Stacy manage very difficult situations with much grace, sincere concern, and much-needed kindness. Knowing at times that her position must be a very heavy burden to carry, she is always friendly and has a smile to share. But a few weeks ago, I experienced her care and concern personally.
When I had to contact Stacy, she showed immediate concern for my wellbeing. It went beyond my job at GCGH, she exhibited great compassion for me as a coworker and friend. I am one of the hundreds she has had to have discussions with, but she made me feel like I was important to her, that she was concerned about me physically and mentally. She texted and phoned me to check multiple times. I know she cared about me as a person.
On one phone call, I became emotional and she took the time to allow me to vent. She validated my concerns and had the appropriate work to calm me and comfort me. She followed up later that day and later that weekend again to check-in and make sure I was feeling better. I don’t believe everyone is cut for this job. It takes a very special heart for someone to not only do the professional thing but to also do the humanitarian thing and she does it. I am so thankful she is in the position she is in and that we know that every member of our staff will be treated with the respect and compassion deserved during these difficult times.
Stacy states that she is just doing her job, and she is doing it well. However, I continue to see her going above and beyond the duties, and even on the days when she has to be down or overwhelmed she finds a way to rise above and be an exemplary human being.
