Jodi and the whole staff did a great job of making me feel calm and comfortable.
The staff at GCGH compares to no other hospital. All staff are always helpful and courteous. But one stands out on 3 different occasions. Jodi was there for foot surgery with Dr. P earlier this year. And last year I had to have a long procedure for a PIC line. Jodi and the whole staff did a great job of making me feel calm and comfortable. I am a very difficult patient to get blood drawn due to bad veins. Jodi gave me permission that the next time I needed labs drawn she would take the time if possible, to come to the lab and draw blood on me. She got it in one stick.
Jodi went out of her way to make me feel like I was actually some kind of important patient and not just a number. I felt like I left the hospital in a most positive manner than when I came in. She made a “big deal” over me. It was so so so nice and kind of her. I got the feeling she has done this a whole lot to each patient she cares for. But I felt it was just about me because that’s how good she is at her job.
Also a couple of months after my visit, my sister had a colonoscopy and I was her driver for this. When Jodi found out we were together she said when she wheeled her into the outpatient area for the procedure she said to the entire OR crew, "Hey, this patient is S’s sister.” My sister said she felt like royalty and also during her whole visit. This kind of care from Jodi and the entire crew is just unmatched by all other hospitals big city or little country hospitals alike. I think it all started 10 or so years ago with a new administrator who really cared about making this hospital better. You can bet I am your #1 fan today!
