Nurse Jennifer called me back and provided me with all the information I needed to be able to calm my father (and me).
At the start of November, my father called in for a refill of his medication. He found out all refills were used, and the pharmacy would contact his health provider. A week later, I called for a status. I was informed that the pharmacy was still waiting for the new prescription. I called the VA clinic in which the receptionist forwarded a message to the health care provider concerning the prescription.

The week before Thanksgiving my father informed me, he had only 5 pills left. On Monday of Thanksgiving week, I called the VA clinic, the receptionist transferred me to Nurse Jennifer. I explained the situation; my father was getting very nervous. He is 81 and relies on me for all health care. Nurse Jennifer knows my father since he has been treated there since 2014. She said she would investigate this matter. She called me back and provided me with all the information I needed to be able to calm my father (and me). After I explained to my father that Nurse Jennifer reassured us that he will be okay if he missed a couple of days with this medication. After Thanksgiving, my father had an appointment with his health provider who re-iterated the same information.

I can tell you, I would have been a total mess and Thanksgiving would have not taken place or it would have been unpleasant if it wasn't for the caring focus, respect, and confidence Nurse Jennifer provided to me and my father. After the health care appointment, I saw Nurse Jennifer and smiled!! She is a caring individual and epitomizes what all nurses should strive toward. Her Integrity with me is unbroken! Her commitment is unquestionable! Her advocacy for Veterans is relentless! Her respect for individuals is honorable! Her excellence for care to Veterans is passionate! Thank you, Nurse Jennifer!
