Vincent embodies all ICARE qualities. I have had the pleasure of collaborating with him for almost 10 years at the West Haven VA. He started out as a Health Technician and became an RN. Even as a Health Technician he embodied the ICARE qualities. He is always available and always willing and ready to collaborate with various members of the treatment teams and disciplines from other Specialty clinics Primary Care, Mental Health, Integration, etc. He consistently provides an excellent standard of care to all Veterans. He is known amongst many Veterans as being effective and a nice guy. Many Veterans and other RNs describe him as efficient, professional, and easy to approach. He goes out of his way to make sure several Medical Specialty clinics run smoothly. He seems to be everywhere all the time. He is not afraid to roll up his sleeves to do whatever task is needed at any given time.
He advocates for Veterans. In one instance he called an older Veteran who was extraordinarily hard of hearing multiple times to help the gentleman with his hearing aid. The Veteran was feeling more isolated and withdrawn because of the pandemic. The Veteran called me to let me know that he was a God-send. The Veteran said that Vincent quickly resolved his hearing aid issue and the Veteran felt that he wasn’t missing out on anything and felt less anxious overall.
He is respectful of others and strives for excellence daily as evidenced by the overall quality of the care he delivers to the Veterans. This form is not big enough to support all of the amazing things about him!
