Anna and Rachel were so thoughtful and empathetic when they treated me.
I was 14 weeks pregnant and came into the E.R. with bleeding. I was pretty shaken up and heartbroken to find that we had lost our baby when everything seemed to be going so well. Anna and Rachel were so thoughtful and empathetic when they treated me. They even went as far as to ask if it was okay to send me a card and the following morning brought me a card and little heart as a token to remember our baby. It truly brought tears to my eyes. I was just so touched by that level of kindness when they probably see countless patients daily.

I would like to recognize not one but two very special nurses who work in the Emergency Department. Rachel and Anna have been part of the Emergency Department time for a few years now. These two nurses collectively demonstrate invaluable qualities such as empathy kindness respect and versatility on a daily basis. Recently these nurses were observed caring for a patient and family struggling with some devastating news they had just been given while in the ER. The primary nurse was busy with other patients so both of these ladies stepped in to focus on the care of a woman who was 14 weeks pregnant and experiencing a miscarriage. After experiencing the devastating effects of miscarrying her baby in the ED, the patient and family were quick to leave upon discharge looking to grieve in the comfort of their own home. Anna and Rachel quickly returned to the room after the patient and family left and were able to obtain the footprints of the baby placing them on a special card. After working out the remainder of their shift Rachel stopped on her way home and delivered this special gift to the patient and her family who were grateful beyond words. They expressed gratitude for not only the care they received in the ED but the extra mile these nurses were willing to go to help her through this hardship. Both of these ladies are stellar examples of DAISY Nurses.
