We just can't say enough good things about Nicole and the care, knowledge, and support she provided us.
I have two stories of why Nicole is a DAISY Nurse, one directly from a patient email, and the other from a new staff member.
A new RNCM reported having had Nicole as a preceptor that she was kind, detailed, and showed strong examples of best practices as a field clinician. She felt comfortable asking her questions and stated that Nicole went out of her way to make her feel confident in doing admissions for home care.
A patient and his wife wrote the following email which highlighted the team care, but specifically mentions Nicole. "We wanted to send a message to management at Good Samaritan to inform you of how grateful we are for the home care team that worked with us the last two months as O was home after hospitalization and rehab services. Each person on our team was clearly well trained and knowledgeable in their specialty area. They were kind and respectful, answered our questions honestly, and came up with creative ways to adapt our existing equipment at home to meet our goals of more independence at home. We especially want to recognize our Nurse Manager Nicole who helped us find ways to make our quality of life better. She made recommendations that helped us find solutions for O's wound care that led to referrals to specialists we wouldn't have seen without her knowledge as well as it meant we got more very needed rest and sleep because of equipment she recommended. She suggested questions for the oncologist we see that also helped us with O's treatment plan. We just can't say enough good things about her and the care, knowledge, and support she provided us and will miss her and her ability to help us feel calm about all the medical needs that O has now and will have as he continues his cancer treatment plan. Home care services were something we were very concerned about during the pandemic but the team Good Samaritan provided us with from day one made us feel safe, treated us with respect, were kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable and we are grateful for the quality care we received and wanted to express our thanks and appreciation.
