From the day we came in, Anita was there for us. We came in due to minimal movement of our baby and found out we would be having a still-born baby. Anita created an environment for us where we felt only love and joy. That being said, she encouraged us to grieve and that the sad moment will pass and will only make us stronger. She instantly became family to us in the few days we were here. She showed her motherly, caring nature every step of the way. She became a sister and mother to us in every which way possible. She fostered an environment where we learned how to love our baby beyond what we thought could be possible. She reminded us to rely on our beliefs and that the grieving process would be on our terms. She supported and respected our religious beliefs and rituals after the baby was born and made sure every aspect of that memory would be perfect for us. This is something we will cherish with us for the rest of our lives.

We always hear that nurses come into their profession because they want to care for their patients. However, Anita’s care for us was so much more. Beyond that, Although, we weren’t able to take our baby home with us, the memories we created during this time are all owed to Anita and the L&D team at ECH. We thank the entire L&D team that has been a part of our care over the past 3 days.
