I had three nurses who represented the best in their profession; they actualized their oath regarding patient care. While knowledge of the science of medicine is critically important, it is also important to maintain and elevate the standards of human care based on positive relationships. Such was observed, I was the benefactor. Each nurse asked targeted questions to determine my present knowledge of the medical procedure and each provided opportunities for me to ask questions or verbalize concerns. The three nurses extended many gestures of goodwill. This included speaking to my son to share information on reconnecting with me following surgery. It was observed that the nurses' greatest concerns were my physical and emotional well-being. For that and more, I offer thanks.
