Compassion and care are Jovannie's mottos and she administers them with joy, every day she walks onto the unit.
Jovannie Murray, BSN, RN has been a nurse for seven years. She started her nursing career in 2016 working with individuals with developmental disabilities. She later moved on to work at Woodhull Hospital as a staff nurse in inpatient psychiatry. Her desire to be a nurse was evoked by providing care for her grandmother at the age of 12, administering her insulin along with her antihypertensive medication, as she was the only one brave enough in her household to do so. While working as a staff nurse in psychiatry she was inspired by her nurse manager to pursue her dream of becoming a postpartum nurse. According to Ms. Murray, the postpartum unit changed her journey as a nurse forever because that is where she found her passion. Compassion and care are her mottos and she administers them with joy, every day she walks onto the unit. When she became a mother in 2020, this further fueled her passion to provide the best care possible, be a strong advocate, and provide a caring hand and a compassionate ear for all patients when they face the most arduous time in their lives. Her goal is to obtain a Master’s degree in education so that she can innovate the way care is delivered to patients across the globe.
