Dylan had two sick children back to back. The first child we had to intubate. We could not get an IV and Dylan came in and got one on the first try. We needed that line and he came in confident in his skills and rocked it. Dylan did an amazing job with the meds and all the pumps. Dylan took the time to explain everything that was going on once the mom was allowed back in the room. Dylan stayed calm and stayed in the room with the child and mother until air care came to transport. He did a phenomenal job.

The second child was not his patient, but he was asked to step in and take this child due to him being a one to one patient. As soon as Dylan walked into the room he had a calming state in the very stressful situation. He told the parents who he was, what was going on, and what the next steps were. He let the parents process everything and answered every question they had about their baby boy. This child also had to be transferred and the mom’s phone was going to die so he took that extra step to find a charger for the mom’s phone so she would know what was going on. He got the child a stuffed bear to try and comfort him. Dylan did a wonderful job. He was calm in the moment and very efficient. I would, hands down, pick him to take care of my own baby boy if he was ever sick. He is an Extraordinary Nurse and super smart and is a true DAISY Nurse.
