MaryLou keeps our team, in Hospital in Home, intact and working in the best possible way we can to help/assist all the veterans and their families in our care.
I've been working with the VA for 15 years now and this is the first time that I feel strongly connected with our Nurse Manager. MaryLou keeps our team, in Hospital in Home, intact and working in the best possible way we can to help/assist all the veterans and their families in our care. She's a teacher, mentor, counselor and can be a "mother and/or a best friend" to all of us when needed and that is her role above and beyond that is exceptional.

Mary has an "open door" policy. Whenever we do wrong, she tells us and corrects us right away so we can do better. She pats us in the back and gives us feedback on what we accomplished in our job. I can't exactly tell one story that is very specific, because she always tries her best to uplift us all, her staff. That is a feeling of me wanting to go to work every day and continue doing great for the team.
