This nurse has such a gentle spirit and sweet heart; these qualities constantly shine through during her patient care. One of the ways these qualities manifest is her ability to provide nonjudgmental care. Although there are many examples of this that I could share, one situation particularly stands out. There was a patient admitted who was very sick; he had a cardiac arrest related to drug use while he was in jail. Danae took great care of this patient as she does with all patients despite the fact that this population can present emotional dilemmas for healthcare providers. Ultimately, this patient passed away. Danae went above and beyond during the end-of-life process and was very present and supportive to this patient's family. She showed unconditional love to both the patient and the family because she was able to see this patient through his mother's eyes. What a rare gift to give during such a difficult time. Danae is a light to her patients and her compassion never ceases.
