Oncology Nurse Manager, Amy Torgusen, RN, OCN, was nominated for the commitment to the nursing profession that she brings every day to our hospital and patients. In December of 2020, Amy was an integral part of successfully organizing and operating the associate Covid vaccine clinic, putting in many hours during the day and evening to ensure the clinic ran smoothly and vaccine doses weren't wasted. As additional options became available to treat Covid positive individuals, Amy coordinated and staffed the outpatient monoclonal infusion clinic. She also covers staffing in the Oncology Department when needed so that patient care is not interrupted. Amy has many admirable attributes, including her passion for her profession, empathy for our patients who are suffering, providing excellent care for our patients, finding the best way to optimize teamwork in every job she does, and her selfless commitment to every job she takes on. She is an inspiration!
