Carolyn was there repeatedly to make sure I was feeling ok or doing something proactive to get me better.
Our beloved mother had developed pneumonia along with her other illnesses in her 83rd year of life. She had been in the hospital for over a week she knew it was time to meet our Lord and Savior. Not long after Mom stated her wishes, the night shift began, and in stepped Carolyn, our nurse for the last two nights of Mom’s life. She offered calm and positive words to us, explaining what her role was and how she was also there for us as much as for Mom. Mom’s face lit up when she saw her as well as Carolyn’s when she saw Mom. What we saw the next two nights was an excellent example of nursing care.

We were confident of her skill and knowledge, but most of all, we knew God had sent Carolyn to be the shades of evening fall that would give Mom her peace in slumber. Carolyn made us all feel as though Mom was her only and most important patient she had those two nights. She made Mom smile and she listened to our stories of Mom as she heard our concerns and met our needs. The long dark nights were when we felt God’s presence over us and Carolyn was a big part of our peace as she offered her prayers for our family. Carolyn Ginger will forever be in our hearts and in our prayers of thanksgiving.

Carolyn has been a shining light in a very difficult time in my life. After having the MGB I experienced a lot of pain and nausea. Carolyn was there repeatedly to make sure I was feeling ok or doing something proactive to get me better. She was always so kind, compassionate, caring, and encouraging. It came up in conversation she had recently gone through some very tough things in her personal life, but being under her care you would have never known it. Her sweet voice put me at ease and the fact she was here working, very hard, during such a difficult time in her life was saying a lot about the kind nurse and person she is. She is a perfect example of what a nurse should be.
