Mallory was caring and compassionate, personable, and understanding.
During our mother’s short time in PCU, all of the nurses and aides were wonderful. However, Mallory stood out for her care of Mom and her compassion for our family. She was professional but personable and approachable when it was apparent Mom would not survive her stroke. She helped us keep Mom in the PCU room instead of moving her and helped get permission to bring Mom’s 2-month-old great-granddaughter into the room to “meet her” before she passed – something that meant so much to our family. Mom’s great-grandchildren were important to her. Even with her professionalism, Mallory did her job and called the time of death, then hugged each of us and cried with us. We can’t forget her care!

I would like to commend all of the nurses that over-saw the care of my Mom. They were all exceptional, but Mallory in particular was so much more. She was caring and compassionate, personable, and understanding. She was genuine with and through all her interactions. And when the saddest of moments came, Mallory became very emotional as well while consoling us. All of our thanks are not adequate for what she meant to us.

Mallory was so kind and gentle with H. She is so deserving of this award. Not only did she aide H but also made sure her family was well taken care of with her words, discussions, and kindness. We kidded her about the cafeteria being closed on Sunday and we couldn’t get any tea. We went to discuss our options and when we came back, there was a care package of snacks and a carafe of tea. Then there was the care of H. She spoke gently, explained everything to an often-unresponsive patient and her family. Her service as a nurse is second to none. Mallory, to me, should be a mentor for all nurses – she’s outstanding.

Mallory was kind and took the time to explain procedures and sincerely cares about her patients a lot.
