Vivian has set the tone for what all nurses should aspire to be.
I was admitted into the hospital for Pulmonary Emboli and to say that the ordeal was a freighting one is an understatement. However, what made my stay as pleasant as it could be given that I did not feel well, was Vivian’s care. As a patient, it is rarely the desire to be hospitalized but if you find yourself in this situation it is the care you receive that makes all the difference. Vivian has set the tone for what all nurses should aspire to be. She is both professional and kind, which helps to heal that whole person and not simply the part you can see. Very rarely is this a learned behavior, either you have this level of compassion, or you don’t. She certainly has the ability to “see” her patients without looking past them.

I was in the hospital for an extended stay due to my symptoms and each day I looked to see if Vivian would be my nurse again as she was very transparent with my care, timely, and kind. This hospital is fortunate to have her and however this statement may reach you, I don’t believe that even an award is enough appreciation for the way in which she makes an impact. It has been my pleasure and joy to write these very genuine and truthful words for someone so deserving. It may feel like a thankless job at times, but I do thank Vivian for her care. She is one of a kind.
