Aaron Westbrook became an interim Nurse Manager while our Manager was on maternity leave. He came on during a time when we were at our lowest staffing ratios our highest patient volume and overall: chaos. He took on the position and went above and beyond. He was there for his staff at all times stood by us and supported us in ways that went beyond his responsibility.

A specific situation that is worth recognizing involves an ED Tech who, being low on money was having car troubles. He drove his car to the point where his brakes were gone and did not have money to replace them. He was having to take an uber to work and even walk. Aaron went above his duties and told the individual to just order the brake parts and he would change them on his day off.

The individual was not able to afford to transport the car to Aaron's house because it was too expensive, so Aaron rented a hitch and picked up the car while the individual was at work and spent all day changing his brakes. With all the stress and work that Aaron's position took, this action of going above and beyond and helping someone in ways they could not have helped themselves is the characteristics of a true leader.”
