My husband was having a problem with his stoma this morning and sent messages to the provider via MyChart. I was very concerned because previously this same type of problem resulted in us meeting with palliative care and the hospice team. My husband had an appointment with Sarah at 1:00 p.m. for his infusion. To prepare for his arrival, Sarah opened his chart and saw the messages and pictures I had sent to the doctor. She took the initiative to personally call the doctor and let him know she was concerned about his stoma.

Sarah called to let us know that the doctor would see my husband as soon as we get to the clinic. The doctor realized the seriousness of my husband's stoma. He right away ordered blood work and labs from his stoma bag. My husband was then able to complete his infusion. Sarah is an amazing advocate for her patients. What she did was beyond anything I would have expected from her. She may have saved his life since this same type of thing put him at risk earlier. Sarah set me at ease. Thank you, Sarah!
