Toni was taking care of a patient during his end of life. This man was COVID positive. It was so touching to see Toni sit and talk with him all the way until the end. Toni is always calm and polite to patients and co-workers. She did not want the patient to pass away alone.

During the middle of COVID my monitor at the Nurses Station was ringing a critical alarm so I told another RN and we walked over to the room to find Toni already holding her patient's hand. We opened the door to see if she needed anything and saw her praying for that patient as they were a DNR and COVID positive, no family could be there, but Toni was offering her empathy. After I told her how sweet it was that she sat with them she said, “Absolutely, that’s my job”. It was very heartwarming.

Toni is a very caring nurse who shows compassion and goes above and beyond to care for her patients. She always makes sure her patients are comfortable. Toni has sat at the bedside with ICU patients to comfort them in their last moments. Toni has also purchased a microwave for me when she heard that I didn’t have one and times were financially tough and then she bought a gift card for me to buy groceries. She has a huge heart and it shows in her work with her patients.

I have seen Toni go above and beyond for any patient. She treats them all the same with a kind, caring attitude, and never has a bad word to say. Toni has also treated all staff, no matter what job, with respect and has proven over and over again to be a true leader. She is a kind and compassionate, respectful nurse and I’m so glad we have her.
