Kathryn has been a great support to me during this scary time.
Kathryn received 9 nominations in one quarter and received the multi-DAISY pin:

After 3 hospitalizations in as many weeks, Kathryn stands out as an excellent and compassionate caretaker. I feel that she has been a huge part of my support system, here at Swedish and has advocated for me; she’s not once failed to remember an item I’ve mentioned. Throughout all of Kathryn’s kindness and generosity have shown through her actions and reactions to the myriad of comments and questions I’ve had. I feel like of the 50-100 team members I’ve met here in Issaquah she stood out and drove in all measurable areas. She’s been a vital part of me being able to be discharged in a timely manner. Thank you.

Kathryn has been taking care of me for two days; I came in for a G-I bleed. From the moment we were introduced I felt I was on my way to recovery. She explained every step of my treatment and gently rephrased explanations and procedures when not clear to me in this medical world in which I became immersed.

Although she wore a mask the whole time I have been here, she spoke with her eyes. Kathryn’s positive attitude about sending me home with detailed instructions and my specific needs for future appointments in recovery are so very encouraging to my mental wellbeing. I am grateful for Kathryn’s professional expertise.

I arrived with a lot of complete medical needs to control spasticity and pain. Kathryn was so sweet and really understood my complete medical needs to assist in making me as comfortable as possible. She worked with the on-call doctor to understand how I can remain stable without causing extra pain. I am 44 years old with C P GSC physical disability. She went above and beyond her normal job scope to make sure I was taken care of.

Kathryn is very thoughtful; she put instructions on the white board for me to remember when nurses change shifts. She talked to a social worker for providing me with help since I lost my job recently and due to hospitalization. I lost 2 job interviews, but they did not want to reschedule. She came to see me with a great and joyful attitude which gave me hope and may me smile even in this painful situation. I felt that she treated me with care, empathy, compassion, respect. All the personnel was great but she left a great memory in my mind about people loving their jobs and really helping others.

Kathryn Forman was a wonderful nurse. I have Type 1 Diabetes also. It was so nice to have someone that cared for me, that had Type 1 Diabetes also. She knows her job well and Swedish Hospital is very lucky to have her as an employee. I wish her the very best.

Kathryn has been an outstanding nurse while at Swedish. She is so efficient and on top of things. She has gone beyond “the call of duty” in helping arrange my care. Not only has she attended to my post-surgery needs but contacted people to look into my "heart issues” like A-fib (which I have today). She is pleasant and compassionate and fast! So delighted to have her care for me!

Kathryn has been a great support to me during this scary time. Every encounter with her, regardless of how I presented, was met with grace and dignity. While all the staff have been great, I feel that I hit it out of the park or Kathryn did with her kindness and goodness. She more than met me halfway on the journey and was pleased along side with me as my body began functioning again. Her kindness has certainly helped me heal physically and emotionally. Thank you, Kathryn.

I was greeted by my nurse with a most cheerful attitude. I was treated with dignity as a biopsychosocial, spiritual individual in dynamic interactions with the environment. My needs/problems were assessed within this framework. A personalized and comprehensive nursing care plan was developed. The nursing care plan was executed in a well-organized and professional manner. Kindness, care, concern, and compassion accompanied all psychosocial and technical nursing interventions. “Creative comforts” were not neglected (e.g., oral care, bath, positioning in chair/bed for comfort etc. In summary, the nursing care I received exceeded all the standard(s) of care. I just want to say that Kathryn is very good and she is very professional at her job.
