From the first moment, it was clear to us that Brianne was the most competent, conscientious, and respectful health practitioner we had ever met.
I am writing to let you know how outstanding one of your team members, Brianne Taylor, is. Brianne is the absolute embodiment of everything a nurse should be. She helped my family through an unbearable time and I will forever be grateful to her for her kindness and compassion. In November of 2020, my father developed an acute neurological disorder that rendered him paralyzed. For the past several months he had been in and out of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. These months were excruciating - knowing my father was suffering and we could not even see him due to the pandemic restrictions. He was so severely neglected at the previous hospital and skilled nursing facilities that he developed a stage 4 bedsore. In May of 2021 he was brought to the ICU at Beaumont Taylor with a COVID-19 infection and then later moved to the department where Brianne oversaw his care. At this point, we were finally allowed to visit him and spend his final days with him as he was admitted into hospice care. From the first moment, it was clear to us that Brianne was the most competent, conscientious, and respectful health practitioner we had ever met. Even when my father was not lucid she always addressed him and informed him of what she was doing when she checked his vitals or administered medications. She took extra care to make sure he was rotated and as comfortable as possible, especially with the extent of the open wound on his back. She went above and beyond in helping us even when we were choosing a hospice nurse that we could feel comfortable with. We truly came to see Brianne as a member of our family during those final days. I cannot emphasize enough how sincerely Brianne cares for her patients and how her sense of compassion allowed my father to rally and we even began to hold out hope that we might be able to bring him home. Brianne single-handedly restored my faith in healthcare and humanity, especially after the previous neglect my father suffered. I only wish that my father had been under her care during his initial hospitalization. The outcome would have been very different.
