Roy models empathy and demonstrates a caring attitude in all situations for the people under his care. He and his staff have recently gone over the call of duty to support the person they cared for and the family. The person was under his care for over two years, and he had gotten to know the family and patient well. He ensured all her individual needs were met from a nursing perspective but also maintained her cultural and religious needs. He recognized the importance of her right to a private and family life and although at times that was difficult to maintain during the pandemic. He went over and above to ensure that the relationships were maintained even coming in on his day off so that he could support a 90th birthday celebration. He reflects and learns from his practice and always ensures he supports his staff and residents so that the best outcomes are achieved. He is personable and always promotes patient safety. Roy is a DAISY Nurse for all his hard work and commitment to the organisation, the staff he supports, and the people he cares for.
