My husband received a stem cell transplant. Megan was his nurse several times and showed an extreme amount of compassion. She worked hard at establishing trust not only with him but with me which is huge when it comes to long-term hospital stays. She worked so hard with him and his emotional roller coaster. Megan is also a huge patient advocate which is a large part of her job. She did everything she could to make sure his needs were met. She spoke up when he needed something and continuously supported him. She was also training someone and was a great example to the nurse who was learning. When I think about nursing and its history, she is a perfect example not only for the title but also a great representation of Mayo. I also would like to thank her for making my husband feel at home. Never did she make him feel bad for having to leave the room just to come right back in for more care. Megan, from one nurse to another, do not ever lose sight of your future, because you are an outstanding nurse, and I am forever grateful you took care of my husband!
