She took the time to listen to my concerns and alleviate my fears. Tisha helped me get through the toughest period of my life.
I had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on my ovary and a week later I had a second surgery which left me with a colostomy and an open wound. I spent four weeks in rehab before I was discharged. I left rehab feeling anxious and uncertain about what the future held for me. The following week Tisha Mitton, a nurse from NYU Langone Home Care came to pay her first visit. She was caring, kind and so attentive to my needs that I immediately felt a sense of relief and reassurance. She explained her role as my nurse and she took the time to listen to my concerns and alleviate my fears. Tisha helped me get through the toughest period of my life. In addition to the colostomy and the open wound, I underwent six chemotherapy treatments. I am now in remission and the wound has finally healed. This journey would have been much harder without Tisha there to guide me and help me through the rough times. We are blessed to have had Tisha come into our lives. I say we because Tisha cared for my husband after his heart surgery. I have learned so much these past six months and I have met so many wonderful and caring people. Tisha Mitton is one of those people whose kindness will always be remembered and appreciated.
