My father felt comfortable with Yashi and was able to learn how to do more things for himself.
My family and I would like to share with you our very positive experience with Mr.Yashi Echaorre, the visiting home nurse who worked with my father after he returned home from a hospital stay at NY Langone in Garden City. My father had been through a great deal by the time we met Yashi and he was reluctant to meet more healthcare professionals. In July, he had an emergency laminectomy, a further revision, and a perforated bowel. After considerable time in the hospital and a rehabilitation facility, my father was able to return home in November. He was happy to be home but his transition from the rehabilitation facility was abrupt, so all of us (my mother, sister, and I) weren't sure how to care for him with needs that we had never managed before. We met Yashi only a few days after Dad came home and he was patient with all of us as he shared his considerable expertise and skill. My father felt comfortable with Yashi and was able to learn how to do more things for himself. Yashi worked with my mother to teach her to care for my father's wounds and bedsores, among other practices. At a stressful time when my father was struggling to recover after such a long medical ordeal, Yashi was an incredible help to my parents and we thank him for his incredible work. His calm and thorough approach to caregiving helped build my dad's confidence and greatly helped him in his recovery. We are grateful for his help and thank him for all of his support. We wish we could have worked with him longer, but as his time with my dad is over, please convey our deepest appreciation and gratitude for his hard work.
