When the doctor told us we would need palliative care, Ghada explained to my mother what that meant and comforted her.
Ghada has a gentle bedside manner, very thorough and efficient. She went the extra mile each time she checked on my father. My father had CHF and fluid retention that caused his arms to weep fluid and were wrapped. The fluid would still leak through. She never left him without clean bandages, gowns, and bed linen. When my father took a turn for the worse, she very calmly called the charge nurse and began doing all that needed to be done to stabilize him. She was with us for three of the most difficult days for him physically. When the doctor told us we would need palliative care, she explained to my mother what that meant and comforted her. At shift change on her 3rd day, we cried when she left because she had been such a comfort to us all. My father passed away and even though he was not her patient she came by to check on us and assisted our nurse at his death. The nurse stands out as an exemplary employee and a true DAISY Nurse.
