As a nursing instructor with Western University College of Graduate Nursing, and a visitor to SARH, I would like to nominate ICU nurse, Enrique Ramirez-Jimenez. Enrique exemplifies excellence. He is highly skilled as an ICU nurse and always gives respectful and compassionate care. I cannot describe just one situation here, so I will allude to a summary of my nominee, Enrique. For the past several years, I have been a witness to how Enrique serves the future of nursing by orienting and precepting the next generation of nurses through his integrity, patience, and respectful understanding. He promotes clinical partnerships by making himself available and going the extra mile to assure satisfaction in those he serves, whether it be students, patients, or patients’ families. His outstanding organizational skills, listening skills, and excellence in communication add to his excellent service. His relational proficiency moves the patient/family/student experience into the realm of extraordinary. Enrique is both patient and student-centered and uses the Magnet component of transformational leadership with visibility, accessibility, and communication to serve those around him. Enrique exemplifies what the nursing profession is all about and is a great example to others. I truly admire this young man.
