My husband received wound care services from your nursing staff. We had a number of nurses visit and were generally pleased with all of them. However, one of your staff, Jimmy, especially stood out. We wanted to commend Jimmy for his excellent service. Throughout my husband's long recovery, Jimmy was caring, patient, accessible, and innovative. From day one, he showed a sincere interest and concern about my husband's condition. He was patient in his communications with him, aware of his cognitive deficiencies. Jimmy was in frequent contact with us, checking on the patient's progress. He was easy to contact when I had any questions or concerns. Most importantly, Jimmy was creative and innovative. It seemed like he was ready to meet head-on the challenges of healing a stubborn wound on an elderly patient with thin, fragile skin that bled whenever dressings were changed. After seeing the persistent bleeding, Jimmy decided to try applying Xeroform dressing with its oilier base. The results were encouraging, with less bleeding and with signs of wound improvement for the first time since treatment began. It was only shortly after the doctor followed my suggestion to re-introduce Xeroform that the wound finally healed. Had it not been for Jimmy's earlier idea to use Xeroform, I wonder how much lengthier the recovery would have been. It's been a long and frustrating journey. But finally, it's ended, much of it thanks to Jimmy’s efforts. For that, we are indebted and forever grateful.
