My husband was admitted in December. One of the most difficult things I have ever done was to drop him off at the emergency room registration desk and not be allowed to stay with him. "You will need to wait in your car," they said, "we will update you." Cristian was his RN on that first day. From my first phone conversation with Cristian, I was struck by his very apparent expertise and knowledge in providing care for COVID patients and the professional and caring way he helped me to understand what was being done for my husband and why. Each time I called to check on him, (more than a few times!), Cristian was exceptionally patient, kind, and compassionate. He was empathetic and a very good communicator. I sensed that he found his true calling and my husband was certainly benefitting from it. When I was able to speak to my husband later that day, he told me that even though things had been rough, he had a great nurse, Cristian, who was helping him get through it. This gave me peace and confidence that he was where he needed to be to get well.

We could have chosen any emergency room in Green Bay that night and, thankfully, we had chosen Aurora. I did not have the chance to meet Cristian myself, but this quote by Mark Twain has come to my mind when I've thought of the excellent care he received from him - "The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why." Cristian exemplified strong qualities that make him a great nurse to his patients, as well as their family members, and one that stands out among the crowd. Please thank him from us and convey our sincere gratitude. He was a blessing to both of us.
