In the last days of D’s life, Julia was not only his caregiver but also the person who saw his fears and panic and tried to soothe him.
My ex-husband D was admitted to Banner Baywood hospital two times within a two-week period for COVID related complications. Sadly, he passed away as he just could not fight the infection in his lungs. He had a double lung transplant eleven years ago and because of his lowered immune system (due to the transplant medicines), just could not fight the virus.

Julia took care of him during both of his stays at the hospital. She was simply amazing when she was on duty, calling me back when I called, providing me with regular updates, calling me just so D could speak to me because he was lonely, afraid, or just needed to hear my voice. This was critical as coming to visit during COVID was difficult. Julia spent hours comforting him also and trying to keep his oxygen on, to help him recover. It must have been very stressful for her but she never showed it.

In the last days of D’s life, Julia was not only his caregiver but also the person who saw his fears and panic and tried to soothe him. We so appreciate all that Julia did, what an extremely compassionate and caring person she is! I could hear it in her voice every time I spoke with her. Thank you, Julia, it meant so much to me during a very hard time. You were and still are appreciated.
