Ashley is a strong leader to all those on her unit and jumps in without hesitation for anyone in need. A recent example of this is when there was a patient on the oncology floor whose husband was admitted to the ICU. Ashley made sure the patient was able to visit her husband often, as his prognosis was grim. The family then made the difficult decision to move the patient’s husband to comfort measures. Ashley, along with our manager, made this family’s life more full of love by arranging for both the husband and wife to be bed to bed in a larger room on our unit and they would hold hands as they slept. Ashley’s acts of love will have a profound and lasting impact on this family. This is just one of many reasons why Ashley is a DAISY Nurse.
