E, my 8-year-old daughter comes for an injection every two weeks and diagnostics every four months. Sara is amazing with E and every time we come, she treats her like her own daughter. My daughter said, "Sara makes me feel safe and the way the gives me the injection is comfy. I love Sara".

To have a nurse that portrays such a warm and caring character is so important for me as a mother watching my daughter go through treatment with support like this. Sara would share stories and photos about her little girl and E would be so engrossed that she would talk about Sara and her daughter at home. E runs into the clinic straight to Sara and if she’s not there, she interrogates the team.

Sara takes her time to speak to E at her height level and if her medication is in the pharmacy takes her with her to collect it. Making E see the process of her injection preparation helps her prepare for it. E used to take up to 1 hour and a half in tears in anticipatory fear of the needle. Now she skips in and within ten minutes skips out in confidence. It’s so important to us that this solid feeling of security and safety is present every visit. Thank you, Sara, and the team
