Sarah always goes out of her way to serve patients. Recently she went out of her way for a patient who wasn't hers and took a significant amount of time to de-escalate and care for a patient who was blind and being held in the E.D. for aggression. Sarah gathered personal care items and games to help tend to the patient's needs such as helping him brush his teeth and caring for himself in a way that set him up for success. She spent more than an hour with him engaging him in activities that were appropriate for his intellectual ability. She also educated the sitters and advocated for the patient with the MD overseeing his care. This is just one example of Sarah being the incredible nurse she is. I've seen her do things like this more than once and I've only been here a couple of months. Sarah is so deserving of this recognition.
