Tanisha is an RN in the CDU. Tanisha is not only a phenomenal nurse but she is also an adept trainer (but do not ask her as she would deny this fact ;). I know this first hand because I am a new graduate nurse and Tanisha helped to train me. Watching Tanisha work I quickly ascertained that she possesses all the skills that make a truly great nurse. Tanisha is caring, kind, compassionate, professional, and she definitely knows her job. She handles the daily pressures of her job with ease and dignity, always prioritizing her patient care. One of the things that I most admired about Tanisha is her understanding and remembrance of what it was to be a new nurse and all the doubt, frustration, and insecurities that come with it. Tanisha took the time to teach me the skills required for the job but more importantly, she showed me daily through her actions what it takes to be a great nurse. She was patient, thorough, and supportive throughout my training, always making herself available to answer my questions (which were A LOT) but more importantly she constantly encouraged me and cheered me on. She laid the groundwork from which I could expand on to become a better nurse. Not only does she care for her patients like family, but she contributes to the growth of new nurses, so her impact is wide and far-reaching. The impact that she has made on my personal growth cannot sufficiently be put into words. While we work on different shifts, Tanisha still makes it a point to come and check on my progress and offers assistance or to answer any questions I may have. Tanisha truly is an asset to our department and to Southeast Health, which is why I believe she is a true DAISY Nurse.
