Margie made me feel like I was her only patient.
While everyone that took care of me during my stay was very courteous and very skilled, two of my caregivers stood out – my nurse Margie and another caregiver. I really can’t praise them enough for their truly sincere compassion, cheerful personalities, medical knowledge, and nursing skills far beyond any that I’ve ever encountered. They both made me feel like I was their only patient. I had a rough time with my surgery. The time between the diagnosis and surgery (about 5-6 hours, I think) really triggered my PTSD. Truth to tell, I was scared, confused, hurting, and my flight/fight was really taking control of me. My wife is usually the only one that can bring me back from the edge, but in Margie and my other caregiver, I found two others who could do that also. I’ve been truly blessed to have them as my caregivers, especially having them back to back during my stay.
