Carolyn came immediately to my assistance when she noticed that my blood pressure numbers were near stroke level. She spoke gently to me in a reassuring manner, telling me that her team would do everything necessary to calm my fears, nerves, and emotions to bring the numbers down in a timely manner. Her calm soothing voice, positive attitude, and compassion were balm to my mind and body. To think that she took so much time with me was incredible.

Having a nurse who senses emotional and physical stress in a patient and provides verbal reassurance that they are not alone is most comforting to the patient, thus promoting a healing environment. During the night she periodically checked on me with encouraging comments. Carolyn's emotional support was exceptional and provided a meaningful difference in my care.
