Deb picked up on a critically short-staffed night shift in the ICU during Christmas weekend. She willingly sacrificed time with her family despite being at the pinnacle of unit seniority. Deb went above and beyond for her team in their time of need. When nobody else showed up she showed up! Even though she admitted to not sleeping well, she continually circled the unit and asked who needed help with turns, baths, and clean-ups. She even went so far as to lift the spirits of her colleagues by bringing in cookie trays, coffee creamers, and loaning out festive jewelry. When she wasn't providing exemplary care to her patients she was retailing stuff with entertaining stories of past years as a Mercy veteran. She is not only an asset to the unit, but with her compassionate and competent treatment of every patient, family member, and colleague, she is an asset to the Mercy family.
